Winter Solstice Emergency Evacuation Plan

Evacuate people FIRST - forget vehicles.
 
EVACUATION PROCEDURES
  • In the event of an incident that requires the evacuation of the site, ALL music will cease playing throughout the festival and an announcement will be made via the public address system requesting that all participants move to the closest Emergency Assembly Areas of the festival site away from any immeadiate danger and await further instruction. These areas will be clearly identified on the festival site map.
  • The Emergency Response Manager is the only person authorized to declare an emergency evacuation.
  • Emergency tools will also be strategically located throughout the venue to ensure a quick evacuation.
  • All Winter Solstice workers/volunteers will be expected to help evacuate the grounds.
  • All campers from the Northern campgrounds will exit - by foot - through to the main exit North West of the festival grounds.
  • All campers from the South East campgrounds will exit through to the West exit gate following designated pathways.
  • The emergency services road must NOT be used as an exit. This must remain open for emergency vehicles to enter.
  • Kids space, Performers area, Freeform Stage and Alternate Jampot Stage workers report to West exit areas.
  • Info workers report to West exit areas.
  • Grounds Crew should report to Emergency entrance and Front gate areas.
  • Day Parking & Gate will remain at the main exit and gate areas.
  • Campground workers report to assigned work area.
  • Safety, fire, first aid respond appropriately.
  • Vendors, recycling, trash consciousness report to main exit areas.
  • Utilities report to Office for safety update.
