Oscar Allison, a.k.a Grouch is from Aotearoa, New Zealand. Grouch started producing experimental dub, down-tempo and DnB in 1999. In 2006, after going to outdoor festivals for a few years, he finally made a shift over to writing psychedelic music. Grouch’s music is now uniquely blending various genres: from techno to minimal, dubstep, psychedelic and progressive trance. With a long-standing background in percussion, the Grouch experience is a profound and cheeky amalgamation of minimal, tribal percussive elements, and intricate and phat stomping basslines. Grouch has developed a fast growing following, playing extensively at music festivals and clubs throughout Australia, New Zealand, and India. Since his debut album "The Moof is Rooving" on A-List Records in 2006, he has released tracks on several labels including Cosmic Conspiracy Records, Zenon Records, Disconekta, Bassweight Recordings, Funtazula, Occulta, Arkona Creation, Solar Records, Native Harmonics Records and Estuary Records. He currently has another album set for release on Up Records, and plenty of other VA releases to look out for in the near future.
