Candy Royalle has been writing and performing an arresting blend of poetry, spoken word and song for over ten years. Variously described as ‘intensely passionate’, ‘unique’ and ‘mesmerising’, Candy Royalle draws on the world around her for inspiration. Using experiences gathered during her lifetime, her subjects range from love to politics, people she’s met along the way and occasional rants. So far, Candy Royalle’s distinctive, highly-charged performances have been enjoyed along side Mr Percival, Mal Webb and Sam Rogers (One Mouth Band) at Quirks; and at Bard Fly, Mersey Sound Rhythms and other nights synonymous with poetry in Sydney. She has also travelled the globe, performing for audiences both English speaking and not. From Thailand and India to London and Spain, her live shows are renowned for they dynamism. Unapologetically driven to connect with people who would otherwise remain strangers, she aims to reach out and be heard whilst hearing the stories of others.
